This course is for experienced pilots who wish to become Flight Instructors. Subject to meeting the experience requirements for the course, applicants for the FI certificate shall have passed a specific pre-entry flight test with a suitably qualified FIC instructor within the 6 months preceding the start of the course, to assess their ability to undertake the course. This pre-entry flight test shall be based on the proficiency check for class and type ratings.
Classroom Instruction and Computer Based Training is organized in three distinct modules. This phase of training typically takes 24 months including inset time for consolidation, revision and block examinations. Students are required to pass the theoretical knowledge examinations in the following 14 subjects:
Typically the Flight Training will involve a minimum of 135 hours of instruction in the R-44 Single Turbine Engine helicopter, subject to the previous experience of the student and the strategic goals agreed with the customer.
